Future Proofing your Firm

It’s a VUCA world – volatile, uncertain, chaotic and ambiguous. In these VUCA times, meeting immediate demands is hard. Balancing immediate demands with maintaining a long-term focus is even harder. Of course you need to think about the future. Of course you need to do things today that will create sustainable growth and resilience for your firm and for yourself in the long-term. But what? And how? And where should you start? In this session, learn about Two Essential Keys that can help you unlock future growth for your firm and yourself. Learn what you can do today that your future self will thank you for.

Essential Key #1 – Leading and Accelerating Change
Preparing for the future means being able to effectively deal with, initiate, and lead change. More effective change implementation decreases implementation costs, increases the ability to capture the benefits of change, and builds trust and confidence in leadership. This session will demystify the process of change and provide insights on how people respond to change and transition. Learn over 30 tips and techniques that leverage those insights to help yourself, your staff, and your firm so you can move from just surviving to thriving through change.

Essential Key #2 – Building a Robust Leadership Bench
One of the biggest obstacles to firm growth and resilience right now is attracting, retaining, and developing staff, especially next generation leaders who will take your firm into the future. Because in the worst of times, great leadership can accomplish miracles. And, conversely, in the best of times poor leadership creates its own problems. How can your firm become a talent incubator for great leadership? In this session learn what you might be doing wrong in building your firm’s pipeline of great leaders, and the steps for doing it right, as well as what you might want to do to enhance your own leadership journey.

Let’s talk about it
The ACEC/Iowa CEO workshop on April 1, in Des Moines provides an opportunity to discuss business demands happening now and in the future.  The workshop is open to ACEC Iowa CEOs or principals in your firm who you believe would benefit from participating in an open discussion of business challenges.

Leading the discussion
Our facilitator will be Rod Hoffman and Barb Smith of S&H Consultants.  Rod has facilitated the Iowa program and has been a frequent presenter at our conferences.  Always has great reviews.
